What a perfect time of year to set some goals to achieve better self care and set new intentions for the coming year!

A great way to start is by taking a look at your current routine and deciding what is working and what needs a bit of a change up.

We’ve listed some of the most common self care goals and how you can achieve them this coming year.

Over the course of a year, hair goes through a lot! From heat styling, to coloring and everything in between. If you’re looking to repair, replenish and strengthen those locks, you’ll want to give your hair a little extra hydration. Jojoba oil is a great option! It’s rich in vitamins and minerals that nourish hair, including vitamin C, B vitamins, vitamin E, copper, and zinc. Because of it’s strengthening power, jojoba oil may also promote hair thickness.

It is extremely important to stay hydrated not only for your overall health, but also for your skin. However, most people have to be dragged to the water dispenser or fridge just to drink one cup! Some fun ways to liven up your water are buying some flavor add-ins or just simply adding some fresh fruit to your drink to give it a little boost. You could even use frozen fruit as ice in your water to change up the flavor a little to make it more fun and drinkable.

It doesn't matter if your frizz is genetic or the result of hair damage or humidity, you can manage it by adding an anti-frizz product to your normal hair care routine! Products that contain Primrose Evening Oil and Vitamin A can help smooth hair, make it easier to comb and style, detangle, minimize the look of split ends, and give it a healthy, luminous sheen. Plus the moisturizing ingredients treat and prevent frizz and flyaways so your hair stays sleek all day - and the lightweight formula won’t weigh down hair either.

When we talk about skincare, most people immediately start to think about their faces. But we want to talk about full body skincare. We want you to think from tip to toe when you think of skincare, with cleansing, moisturizing and giving your skin some extra love. Quick tip, don’t forget about your neck! This is the one place on the body most people don’t even think about or give a second thought to. Use the same skincare routine on your neck as you do on your face and you won't regret it.

While it’s often ignored, scalp health is a critical step to healthy hair. If your scalp isn't in good shape your hair won't be either, so taking care of it isn't just a good idea—it's a necessity. Some common hair concerns, such as dryness, itchiness, and flaking or irritation means your scalp needs some extra attention! Finding shampoos and conditioners that contain amino acids can help soothe and hydrate the scalp, as well as remove build-up at the roots and help maintain healthy hair growth.

One of the best things we all need, especially after the Holidays, is more sleep! This seems like such a simple concept but it’s so much harder than it seems. Weither you’re trying to recover from travel over the Holidays or need to improve your sleep schedule, one of the easiest ways to get more sleep is to allow yourself to rest and relax 30min before going to bed. No electronics, dim the lights if possible and get comfortable in your bed. This will allow time for you to unwind and relax to fall asleep with more ease. Then you can increase that by 10 to 15min increments until you get to the sleep schedule that works for you.

Stop watching your previous investment go down the drain. Choose shampoos and conditioners that are specially formulated for color-treated hair to keep your color fresh and extend your shade’s life and vibrancy. Finding shampoos and conditioners that are sulfate and paraben free is a good way to both help retain the natural moisture in your hair, as well as prolong the life of your hair color.

We are excited to see which self care goal or goals you’re looking to achieve this new year! Share yours on Instagram and be sure to tag @norarossinc to let us know.
